Auditions

We have auditioned many actors to play the part of Edward Jones and Brad Smith we used a quote out one of our three inspired films which was Shutter island and the quote was "you're smarter than you look, Marshall. That is probably not a good thing.

Animatic

Flash Productions

We have chosen the name FLASH PRODUCTIONS because we feel it is original and a sharp production name that is easy to remember and is a catchy name. We have linked the background picture with the name by putting a flash light, this creates a brilliant image. Black and white was the best colours we could use due to us both thinking it looks professional and high standard. We chose this font  and it being black because it stands out with the white background and is a easy font and colour to read.

Story board

In this close up shot, it shows importance, this is a key factor
in our thriller because its all about the top secret files and
what is on them, which leads to the mystery also why would a
villain want it.

This is out story board, we haven't introduced the location in this story board however it will be set in London Canary Wharf and in a building.

I took these pictures in school showing some of the shots and a rough story line of our production.

Our cast consists of a detective working for the government and retrieving top secret information from a building.

In this shot i used the rule of thirds and showing a close up
of the detective putting the file chip in his pocket.

A long shot using the rule of thirds

Shot of walking, rule of thirds showing where the character
is going.

Shot of brief case showing brief case with documents
high shot of important documents showing importance.
High shot of detective when villain shows power, giving the
detective less power

High shot of our Villain showing power, he is against the
government, puts a chip in his neck. However this shot is
poor due to the actors head being cut of, in the real
production we will improve from this.

Close up of the hard drive where access to files are.

Long shot leaving the building. This shot is one by using
the rule of third, showing where the actor is going.

Close up of him escaping showing an important factor. The
shot is showing importance of him getting away.

Over the shoulder shot of them tracking down where the
detective is. However is need to be clearer and better
to understand that its an over the shoulder shot.

Close up of the tracking device, Shows power because they
know where the detective is.

Set up of detective entering a building. However to improve
this shot we would need to position the camera better
and improve on the head room in the shot.

Again the head room in this shot is poor, to improve this
we will need to position the camera.

head room again is cut.

Pitch

In this video we talk about the three films that have inspired us to create a detective, philological thriller. the three films we have chosen are Inception, Shutter Island and Casino Royale (we have explained why we have chosen these thrillers in the image below). We also talk about the genre and a little bit about the main characters such as Edward and what he has to do with the genre we have chosen.
*Below you can see the three films we have chosen and what the reasons have that we have chosen them*

In the two videos above we talk briefly about enigma codes such as who is he? what does he want? and why is he working for the government?. We want our thriller to have as much mystery and suspense possible this will make our target audience link to the film more and ask many enigma codes throughout the film. How ever we also talk about the characters we have hired to play out vilain and hero in our opening film. We speak about the two actors we have hired and what their individual parts are and what they achieve and play during the sequence. We also mention about the security guards as they are also a big part in our film and what they have to do during the time we film, even though they aren't man characters they play a big part.

Below you can see us talking about the certificate we have chosen our film to be and why. We based it on drug use, violence, alcohol and language, due to us not having a lot of the following we have chosen our certificate to be age 15 and above. Due to this being the certificate we have chosen our target audience to be 15 and over aged boys/men.

Subgenres Thrillers

Here we have created a voki to describe different types of subgenre thrillers, this research helped us a lot when picking what thriller we wanted to carry out and film. After researching the thrillers we had a look at examples of each genre and saw what ones we thought where best for us to do and what we thought we would work best with. After narrowing it down to just two subgenres which where detective and psychological we researched three types of the genres and our film is now inspired by our choices.
